the owner's son, Eric took pity on me and made sure we matched everything up right and sold me a gun. I told them I was just going to go down the road to that gunstore (B&J i believe), and they called down there and tried to get me blocked. I put the Physical address of the house down, but since it was different than what was on my license, they denied me sale of the gun even though my NCIS check came back golden(I have a secret clearance in the Army). I went in to buy a gun, and my dad had moved from Mayfield, to Murray. I was home on leave from iraq, and it was deer season. Same thing actually happened to me in Murray at the Wal-Mart. If everything on the paperwork, Driver's licenses, and NCIS check don't match up, and the ATF just happens to stop by and inspect, they could get shut down. I know you probably don't want to hear this, but they did the right thing. They really do not like taking those chances. The other option (I had to pull this with a can of powder I purchased and found it had been 1/2 used) Tell them you are going to use it and if anyone is injured or any property damage incures from them selling you a faulty gun you will site them on the law suite. I would email thier coporate offices and keep track of your communications with them and the names of the people in case it has to be pushed to small claims court They should just except their mistake and give a full refund or a NEW gun in exchange. I found out later that the gun I purchased in Feb of 09 was manufactured in I june of 05 if I remember correctly. I returned the gun for a FULL refund and they lost the sale as I ent elseware to make my purchase. They siad tha mossberg would not return their calls either. Mossberg would not return my calls or emails so I contacted the store again. I then tried to register the warranty and it gave me a warning as if it was already registered. I just had a simular situation with a 935 I purchased from Ganders in MI, They did the same thing with getting one from the back in the sealed box, When I got home it had pieces missing, I emailed corporate (so I have a paper trail) and the store manager contacted me about getting me the parts. What other steps should he take, can he take legal action or a way to find out if it is has been registered to someone else before him? This is a joke, that is less then half of what he paid for it and it is unfired, he is scared to shoot it. Now they are saying if he brings it back they will buy it back for $175 but will not replace it or give refund. says he picked it out and they went to the back and brung it out in a box. They are supposed to inspect guns before selling them as used and didnt fix this one but my friend says that he bought the gun as new still in the box and unopened. Bout two hours later i get a call back and very much to my suprise he tells me they cant do anything bout it because it is listed in their comp. I tell him the story and he says he is calling the store and will get back to me. I get the numbers from the gun this morning and call the store, the manager keeps giving me the run around so i call corporate. Well last night he calls and i am expecting him to tell me he is bringing it to me to paint but to my suprise he tells me he got the gun out of the box and put it together to find the barrel is warped and that gander is giving him the run around. I told him okay and just bring the gun to me bout 3 days before season. Well he calls me and tells me he just bought a Charles daly 3 1/2inch pump and wants me to do a paint job on it. Anyway, he don't know much bout guns and I figured this would be a good place for him to go, I deal with them for just about everything and they ahve always done right by me. I am calling for him this weekend for opening of ky turkey season, he has been a good friend of mine for over fifteen years. Sent a guy up to gander mountain in paducah ky a couple of days ago to get him a shotgun. This is long but stick with me and read it.
